1 Uintah and Ouray Reservation
Находится в штате Юта, занимает площадь около 4100 кв. км. Здесь живут около 1,5 тыс. индейцев резервационной общины и около 6 тыс. неиндейцев. Создана в 1861. В резервации развиты лесное хозяйство, скотоводство, изготовление мебели. Сдаются в аренду месторождения газа, нефти, фосфатов, угля и гравия. 1.1) ютаИндейское племя, населявшее земли на востоке современного штата Колорадо, северо-востоке Аризоны, севере штата Нью-Мексико, а также на территории современного штата Юта. В 1845 насчитывало 4,5 тыс. человек. Одно из первых племен американских индейцев, научившихся использовать лошадей около 1640. До этого жили небольшими кланами, занимаясь охотой и собирательством. В начале XVIII в. воевали с индейцами пуэбло [ Pueblo] и испанцами, в качестве добычи забирали лошадей и скот, боролись за территории, где обитали бизоны [ buffalo]. У индейцев Равнин [ Plains Indians] заимствовали такие элементы быта и культуры, как типи [ tepee], головные уборы из перьев орла [ war bonnet] и др. Приход мормонов [ Mormons] в Юту привел к нарушению традиционного образа жизни. В 1870-80-е индейцы племени были переселены в резервации. Ныне более 7 тыс. из них живут в резервациях Юинта-энд-Урей [ Uintah and Ouray Reservation] в штате Юта, Сазерн-Ют [ Southern Ute Reservation] в штате Колорадо и Ют-Маунтин [ Ute Mountain Reservation], расположенной в штатах Колорадо, Нью-Мексико и Юта2.Относится к шошонской группе [ Shoshonean]
